Jorie Johnson Focusing on the ultimate capabilities of wool fiber, Jorie began her textile
studies in the USA at R.I.S.D., continued in Finland and has lived in Kyoto,
Japan for the past 17 years. Born into the house of a New England wool and fiber
merchant, she has forged a path of professional work in both limited edition
wearables and interior handmade felt textiles. Her work is included in the
collections of: the Victoria and Albert Museum, Bank of Boston, and the Nuno
Corp. of Japan. She has been featured in The Fiber- arts Book of Wearable Art
(2002) and has published her own book on feltmaking in Japan. Jorie has taught
feltmaking and related applications throughout the US, Europe and Asia. |
