B 1. Form in Felt: Projects for practical, decorative, and artistic uses, Marjolein Dallinga
Marjolein has become well know for creating fanciful, but useful felt art to wear through her business "Bloomfelt". Join her to explore the many innovative possibilities for projects for the home, fashion or jewelry. The accent is on the particular qualities of felt which gives the surface a totally different look that is modern, sculptural and organic. Explore folding, shaping and other 3 dimensional forms while playing with color and other design variables.

B 2. Manipulating Felt Surfaces: Additional Techniques for the Textile Artist, Erma Martin Yost
You already know how to make felt, now add a range of different techniques that can transform your felt compositions. Create several small compositions on day one while strengthening your confidence about design basics including color, line, texture and positive/negative shapes. Then explore image transfer, mono printing, applique and mark making with thread (stitching, couching and embroidery). You can bring a few flat "works in progress" or that piece that never quite worked to experiment on as well.

Make a unique felt sculptural art piece incorporating metal elements. We have teamed up Icelandic felt artist Anna Gunnardottir with Snow Farm's resident metal and glass artist Pat Bennett (well known to all Fling alumnae).Your sculpture can be designed to hang on the wall or be free standing. Learn how to make a big, stiff sculptural pieces which are light weight and translucent, but strong enough to be used outside.

B 4. Nuno Felted Butterfly Shawl, Jean Gauger
Explore and examine the variety of patterns, shapes and colors presented in natures most beloved insect. Then learn how to interpret your favorites in a Nuno felt garment. Create a stunning felt shawl with layers of silk gauze, merino wool, china silk, and a range of decorative silk fibers.
