Chad Alice Hagen

Chad is a painter and feltmaker specializing in large "walls" of felt and designer hats and scarves. Her work is distinguished by her use of shibori dyeing techniques and composing dramatic pieces from small felt elements stitched together and combined with found objects. Her work has been featured on the covers of Fiberarts and Surface Design magazines and in Craft magazine. She has authored three popular books on feltmaking, through Lark Press. She holds a BA and MS in Fiber from the University of Wisconsin, Madison and an MFA from Cranbrook. Chad now has her home and studio in Asheville, NC.
